The Minalungao National Park is located in the province of Nueva Ecija in the municipality of General Tinio. The park is located in the area of the Peñaranda River, which has created a canyon-like canyon.
The national park was established in 1967 on an area of around 2000. It is located in the western foothills of the Sierra Madre. The name Minalungao translates as gold from caves. There are several cave systems in the area of the national park, but the area is little explored. According to statements from local residents, Japanese soldiers hid in the cave systems during the Second World War. Locals advise against entering the caves because of ghosts.
